We are situated in the small hamlet of Bunree by the village of Onich. The house itself is accessed via a private road from the A82, the main road between Glasgow and Inverness, making us easily accessible from north or south. We are, however, far enough from the main road to enjoy the full peace and tranquillity of the West Highlands. Fort William, with its shops and restaurants is a fifteen minute drive to the north, whilst scenic Glencoe is a ten minute drive to the south. Further afield, the picturesque port of Oban is around 45 minutes away, whilst world famous Loch Ness is less than an hour’s drive. We are within walking distance of Roam West pub at Inchree and the Inn at Ardgour Hotel (via the Corran Ferry), all of which serve evening meals, and within a short drive of several other restaurants, including the celebrated Lochleven Seafood Cafe.
How to find us
TRAVELLING FROM THE SOUTH: Follow the A82 north from Glasgow to Crianlarich, across Rannoch Moor and through Glencoe, or the A828 north along the coast from Oban. Cross over the large bridge at Ballachulish and continue through the villages of North Ballachulish and Onich. Shortly after leaving Onich, you will see the sign for Bunree/Bun Ruighe directing you to turn left (do not take the earlier turning to the Bunree Caravan Club site). You will see our sign by the roadside, just before the turning, underneath the sign for our neighbour’s business “Janika”. Take this turning and continue down the narrow road. At the small T junction turn left and follow the lane past Janika, turning sharp right by Dalbreagha. Lochview is the larger white house at the very end of the track.
TRAVELLING FROM THE NORTH take the A82 south from Fort William. After about 9 miles/14.5km, you will see the right turning down to the Corran Ferry, followed quickly by “Birchbrae Highland Lodges” on the left. Almost immediately after that is the right turning to Bunree/Bun Ruighe – you should see our sign by the roadside, underneath our neighbour’s larger sign for “Janika”. Take this turning and continue down the narrow lane. At the small T junction turn left and follow the lane past Janika, turning sharply right by Dalbreagha. Lochview is the larger white house at the very end of the track.
